Canon CaptureOnTouch Lite Web software is built into the DR-S250N, and allows users to easily begin scanning without having to install an app onto their smart device. The software enables scanned pages to open in a browser, creating flexible usage in diverse working environments.

The DR-S250N scanner also includes an OLED display, designed for superior viewing angle, high brightness and contrast, and fast response time, helping to improve readability and usability. It can display messages and network information, and users can input text with the buttons on the body of the scanner. For Windows and Mac computers, the DR-S250N scanner also includes full-featured Canon CaptureOnTouch software. Users have the option to scan to network folders, email, FTP, or directly to a printer. In addition, the DR-S250N supports a wide range of file formats, including PDF, JPEG, PNG, Excel, Word, PPTX, BMP, and TIFF. The scanner can also handle a variety of different media, including documents, business cards, plastic or embossed cards, passports, and more.

The DR-S250N scanner can process up to 50 pages per minute and has the ability to hold up to 60 sheets in the feeder. The scanner can also scan both sides of a document in a single pass, in color, grayscale, and black-and-white.
